A can of white gloss spray paint matched the interior paint pretty spot on, so touch ups of scratch marks and stains got a few coats. Didn’t have to do much masking either. Left up the constant million dollar beach view van art 🙂
That’s my mom! A little over 3 years ago she helped me build this modular sleep platform and storage setup for my van in Arlington, Virginia. After few years of living with this setup, I wanted to experiment more, so conveniently she was visiting San Francisco and got to come help me take it apart at Hayes Valley Artworks so I could transport the Water Bowl.
On my way west, Ive had a few fun adventures along the way. thanks for people helping people. what makes the world go round and vans get out of the mud.
I had a neat little setup with a manfrotto magic arm and my canon 60D shooting a still image every 30 seconds. Magic Lattern hack gives you intervelometer options for still and video mode. The 2nd video in the webcam challenge with Adrienne O’Docharty…mine is a little late. finally got to my dads house with internet. another one posting tonight!
I’ve had my Ford Transit crammed into the garage for the past few weeks to work on it in some warmth.
It has been a fun design process trying to maintain the natural openness of the van and creating a functional passenger and sleep space while maximizing storage. My mom has helped out a lot in the conceptualizing and building phases. March 1st, I’ll depart for San Francisco!
